Toca Life: Hospital is an educational game developed by Toca Boca AB for mobile. This game is the latest entry to the long-running Toca franchise. This time, it offers players a medical theme, exploring and creating stories related to health.

Toca Life: Hospital has a similar premise to another title in the series named Toca Pet Doctor. However, as the name suggests, the latter focuses mainly on the health and welfare of pets. This game focuses on humans, letting players experience life in a virtual hospital. Nevertheless, it provides the same fun gaming that the Toca games are known for. 

What is the game about?

Toca Life: Hospital is a five-story virtual dollhouse set inside a hospital. Here, players can create whatever scenario they think of using more than 30 characters of various ages, ethnicities, and even species. They can see and experience different events, including treating sick people and delivering babies. The game even tackles mature topics, such as the concept of death and saying goodbye to a loved one.

The hospital has five floors: the basement, main level, lab and treatment, family care, and general care. Each has its purpose, which helps in the operation of the facility. Each floor also comes with a wide array of props that you can play with, including equipment for specific illnesses and medical tests. Even better, you can move characters around each floor using the elevator.

There are a lot of things that you can do in every single space of your hospital. You can spend hours on the game and never repeat an activity. There is even a built-in recording feature, which lets you capture certain events in the game. Players can even narrate it to include their voices in the clip. However, some situations inside the hospital are not depicted accurately.

Is the game good?

Overall, Toca Life: Hospital is another great addition to the Toca series. It has the same sandbox gameplay, only this time set inside a hospital. Here, younger players can learn more about health and welfare. Not only that, but they can also get a glimpse of life inside a hospital. It has some shortcomings, but it does not diminish the fun experience this game provides.
